REDESIGN

Meet Sagira

What's in a name? Sagira is Egyptian for little one and
I think it suits this fellow nicely.

Sagira was created with faux fur from a thrift store stuffed animal.

Along with my Mini Monsters I thought I would start
redesigning some of my plush to be more "desk friendly"

Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Each Mini Monster has it's own character and every one makes me smile :) They sit playfully in your hand and watch over your desk for intruders.

CRAFT SANITY

So, I have been listening to the Craft Sanity podcast since a fellow Plush Team member shared it with me and I'm absolutely in love. Jennifer seems to find the most interesting people that share their love of sewing, design, and crafting with her listeners. I must admit, I wait anxiously for Jennifer to post new episodes, I quickly find a project and settle in.

Podcast 120 is now available and is described as: A day in the life of Chris de Longpre, pattern designer, business owner and self-published author.

Not only does her podcast include great interviews, but her site is full of ideas, tutorials, and Jennifer's weekly travels through the crafting world.

I've been so moved by her podcast and blogs that I decided to sponsor an episode. Jennifer and her husband Jeff walked me through the whole process and really confirmed the quality and hard work that go into each and every episode.

So grab your favorite project, a cool drink, and have a listen

DOTTIE

Meet Dottie!!

This fuzzy monster was created from an upcycled faux fur jacket. Since the fur was super thick this gal is completely hand sewn. She is ready to celebrate just about anything with her polka dot party hat and yummy cupcake.

*Note: Several cupcakes were harmed during this project. Those cupcakes were purely for research only and may have included sprinkles.

Dottie is 10 1/2" tall from her feet to tip of her horns and 17" from foot to foot. Her cupcake is 4" tall and created with fleece scraps and upcycled corduroy pants.

SCAMP

Meet Scamp

This Plush Monster is made from a thrift store stuffed animal and scrap fleece. His good eye is created with layered vintage buttons and he is stuffed with recycled plastic shopping bags.

Scamp is 8" tall from his bottom to the tip of his horns and 15" from foot to foot. His ice cream cone is 8 1/2" long.

I am totally in love with this fellow. His fur is super soft and he just looks so playful!

WIP

Two Monsters out of a set of five I will be creating for a gallery showing in Jan. They will each have their own candy accessory. The plan is to create a plush candy apple, box of chocolates, and I'm still debating about the others.

Both monsters are completely hand sewn and created with faux fur from thrift store stuffed animals. Since this method takes longer I'm a little behind on stocking my shop but new items will be up shortly!

GOOD THINGS

My newest victims!

Good things come in threes as they say and it's true! I was able to visit my parents for a short time this weekend and visit their thrift stores. I found these stuffed animals and I'm excited to start cutting them up.

Another great thing, I finally have a new camera! I haven't had a ton of time to play around with it, but I'm hoping to get some time this week.

Tonight I put the last stitches into a custom set of 18 monsters... yes 18! A lovely lady from CA recently contacted me about this project and I'm excited to have finished. Now that I am finished with that order, I can now start on my plush for my gallery showing in Jan.

Busy busy! But for now I'm going to relax and sleep late tomorrow ;)
