Studio In Progress

"I thought you said you were taking the wallpaper down?" HAHAHA...

The wallpaper never seems to end! After spending ALL DAY moving furniture to take down the next section, I realized something... I have orders to do and nowhere to do them.. so here is my makeshift studio.

Funny thing is that we have been spending all week taking wallpaper down so I wouldn't have to stare at it.. hmm guess that didn't work out so well.

Anyway... hopefully my husband will keep on truckin' and just paint around me until I am able to help again. But I am not doing anything else today. I am tired.. my pets are mad at me because I've ignored them, I'm hungry, and my lungs are full of dust and paint fumes.

It's been a good day. ;)

Now go love a o.X

In The Works

Imagine trying to work with this all over your walls:

I couldn't work or relax with the jungle themed walls. I orginally thought the space was 20'x10' with a 10'x10' alcove.. but my hubby suggested it was more like 30'x15' The only wall we've removed paper from is the alcove.. and I've decided that it would be easier next time to just buy a new house then it would be to take wallpaper down.
Plans are to paint it a neutral color, probably in the cream/tan family. Then when everything is done (8 years from now) it's an IKEA shopping spree for me!

The Traveling Armadillo

So Moe is off to Germany!

That's right. He is starting his trek tomorrow! This cute guy found a sweet home with an Armadillo lover.

You can check out her website here: http://www.guerteltiere.de/news.php

Time for him to lose his southern accent and pick up on the ways of beautiful Germany.

Little Note

It seems, Moe the Armadillo, Has already found himself a new home. Not to worry :) I will be continuing the Armadillo Collection as soon as I can have my sewing table back.

We are in the midst of removing wallpaper in my studio. My table, and everything else, is now tightly packed away. So until the room is cleared of ugly green vines, or until I go crazy and move to the kitchen table, I will be dreaming up my next LEFTZ Armadillo.

Enjoy your day!

A True Vegetarian

Who said sharks have to eat meat?

Sorry but this guy isn't for sale! He was a custom order. Why is he a vegetarian? The story behind the shark and the corn is this... While on a trip to the Atlantic Ocean the family saw corn in the ocean! Why else would there be corn floating the in great blue water than if it was shark food. So from that Tack the Shark was born.

Tack is made out of fleece and stuffed with recycled plastic shopping bags. His good eye is made out of layered vintage buttons. His favorite snack is also made out of fleece and quilted for that lovely bumpy texture.Tack is a little over 16" from neck to tip of corn and over 9 1/2" tall.

Story Time

My LEFTZ are so versatile and with that being said, I have decided to start a Storybook Collection.

Here is the first in the collection. Let's take a trip, don't forget your basket full of goodies...

Each felt piece takes about 2 hours. They are all handsewn with the blanket stitch. Their good eye is made out of layered vintage buttons and their left eye is made out of felt. Their innards are made from polyfill and they range from 5 1/2" to 9" tall. All pieces are felt except for the lumberjack's clothes, which consists of a cotton blend and blue jean material.

Soon all four of these will be up in my shop. If you are interested in them before I post them, send me a note.
